A Good Spondylolisthesis Story

Dealing with a spondylolisthesis can be frustrating and at the same time raise many questions:

What causes the pain?
How did I get it?
Can I live with this?
Will I ever get better?
Can I participate in my favorite activity again?

I have found that hearing or reading about other's who suffer from spondylolisthesis/spondylolysis sometimes answers a few of these common questions. At the same time, reading about or communicating with people who are in the same boat can provide hope and encouragement that healthier days are possible.

The following article is about Steve Nash. Steve is a point guard in the NBA and has had several successful seasons. He has been both an MVP and an all star in a sport that has a very long season. The wear and tear of this lengthy season can play a heavy toll on the body. An NBA player's  body absorbs the stress from  miles of running, jumping, and cutting. This stress can do serious damage to a body that moves poorly or isn't in proper shape. The amazing thing about Steve is he also suffers from spondylolisthesis. Without the proper movement preparation, Steve's body would not be ready for the rigors of the NBA.

The article below (click on the link highlighted in red) is a few years old, but Steve still thrives in the NBA today. He takes great care of his body and has found a spondylolisthesis specific exercise training regimen that both conditions and prepares his body for the season. When you read this article focus on how they talk about proper movement and how the body works. Two keys we mention in our program SpondySolution.

The workout demonstrated in the link below was designed specifically for Steve Nash with the expert eye of his strength and conditioning coach. Steve is also a professional athlete with a well trained body. We would not recommend trying any of these exercises to beginners without the knowledge of how to do them correctly.
